Return from Baltimore

Friday morning started early and I watched the sunrise over some jets at Baltimore Airport (BWI). I wish that I could have spent a couple of more days in this city. There is a lot of historical buildings here that I would like to see and take pictures of. Maybe next time I will have more time and hopefully warmer weather.

I didn't get my First Class Upgrade from United on this leg and this is when I rally wanted it. It was about a 5 and a half hour flight from Baltimore to San Francisco. We were on an Airbus A320 so the First Class Cabin on seated about 12 people. A friend told me you have a better chance of getting your upgrade if you check in online the night before your flight. I tried and it didn't work this time. The whole center of the country is covered in snow so the scenery gets a little boring after a while. I watched the movie Jacob's Ladder on my iPod and that killed a couple of hours. As we were nearing San Franciso Airport (SFO) I had a great view of Mono Lake on my side of the plane.

Unfortunately I have about 3 hours to kill at SFO now but I am very hungry so my first goal is to get some food and then get online to check email. After I eat I find a window seat near a power outlet and sit back and work for a while. As I am looking out the window I realize what a busy airport SFO is. I can see planes landing right nest to each other on parallel runways and also taking off together. I tried to get a picture of 2 planes taking off or landing but had no luck. But his picture shows a pretty busy airport.

2 days in the High Desert of California and then it is off to Orlando Florida on Monday.
